The Military Benchrest Service Rifle Match and the Military Benchrest .22 Trainer Match provide a venue for shooters to fire and enjoy those surplus or trophy rifles which they have accumulated over the years. These are honor system matches and are fired at the shooter’s convenience at any time during the month preceding the second Sunday of each month (2nd Monday through 2nd Sunday).

MILITARY BENCHREST SERVICE RIFLE
GUN: Any service rifle issued by any country to its military forces prior to 1956, in original military caliber
AMMO: Military surplus or commercial manufacture to military specifications (commercial reloads to military specification are permitted)
SIGHTS: Original military iron sights or appropriate National Match rear aperture sights. National Match front sights provided the blade or post is maintained
DISTANCE: 100 yards
TARGET: NRA SR-21, SR-21C sighter
STANCE: All shooting must be done from rests or sandbags
COURSE OF FIRE: One target, 10 rounds for score, unlimited shots on sighter target, no time limit
SCORING: Point scoring.
High score – High X.
100-10x maximum
MILITARY BENCHREST .22 TRAINER RIFLE
GUN: Any training rifle issued by any country to its military forces in caliber .22 Long Rifle
AMMO: Any .22 Long Rifle
SIGHTS: Original military iron sights only
DISTANCE: 50 yards
TARGET: NRA A-23/5
STANCE: All shooting must be done from rests or sandbags
COURSE OF FIRE: One target, 5 rounds per record bull, unlimited sighters, no time limit
SCORING: Point scoring.
High score – High X.
250-25x maximum
MILITARY SERVICE RIFLE OFFHAND
GUN: Any service rifle issued by any country to its military forces in original military caliber.
Two classes based on original issue date
Class 1: Military rifles first issued prior to 1956
Class 2: Military rifles first issues after 1956
AMMO: Military surplus or commercial manufacture to military specifications (commercial reloads to military specification are permitted)
SIGHTS: Original military iron sights only
DISTANCE: 100 yards
TARGET: NRA SR-1 for score, SR-1C sighter
STANCE: Free standing. Cannot lean against bench, table, or posts. Slings, palm rests, or hook buttplates cannot be used.
COURSE OF FIRE: One target, 10 rounds for score, unlimited shots on sighter target, no time limit
SCORING: Point scoring.
High score – High X.
