Muzzle Loading/Single Shot Match Guide

Muzzle Loading Matches:

Firearm: Any original or safe reproduction muzzle loading rifle or pistol, flintlock or percussion cap, equipped with iron sights. No scoped firearms. In-line muzzle loaders are allowed. If three or more in-line rifles are entered a separate match can be opened for 100 yards. All matches are open for re-entry (as many targets as you would like to shoot).

X-Center Match: 3 shots any caliber any range (25, 50, 100 yd). Shot closest to the center wins.

6-Bull: 1 sighting bull and 5 shots for score. 1 shot at each bullseye for score.


Silhouette Matches:

The Muzzle Loaders shoot a variety of silhouette targets including for example Buffalo (25 and 100 yd), Crow, Prairie Dog, Nightmare (various woodland creatures on one target), etc. Most targets are shot at 25 yard and comprise 5 shots for score.

Pistol: 10 shots at 25 yards for score.

100 yard Offhand: 5 shots for score.

50 yard Offhand: 5 shots for score.

Single Shot Matches:

Firearm: Any single shot rifle, equipped with either iron sights or optical scope.

100 yard Offhand: 10 shots for score.

100 yard Bench: 1 sighting bull, 2 scoring bulls. 5 shots for each of the 2 scoring bulls.

 

Lever Action Matches:

Firearm: Any lever action rifle that would have been available prior to 1900 equipped with iron sights. No scoped firearms.

50 yard Offhand: 10 shots for score.

 

Military Rifle Matches:

Firearm: Any rifle issued as a Military weapon and available prior to 1900 equipped with iron sights. No scoped firearms. This can include Muzzle Loading or Single Shot breach loading rifles.

50 yard Offhand or Bench: 5 shots for score Matches are grouped as Bench or Offhand targets.

100 yard Offhand or Bench: 10 shots for score Matches are grouped as Bench or Offhand targets.

 

Matches are held the third Sunday of every month; range opens at 9:00 am.
