Home Range Safety Rifle & Pistol Range

Rifle & Pistol Range Rules

1.No uncased long guns or unholstered hand guns may be handled in the parking lots.

2.Every shooter on the same range must shoot from the same firing line. All safe shooting positions are allowed (prone, kneeling, off-hand,

standing, etc.)

3.All shots must be fired and targets placed at a height that guarantees the discharged round will strike the back berm on the fly (without skipping) if the target is missed.

4.Approved targets are: paper; clay pigeons; plastic jugs hung from frames; balloons and unmodified, commercially-manufactured reactive (steel, spinner, self-sealing, etc.) targets. Reactive targets must be used exactly as the manufacturer specifies for: angle of engagement, maximum caliber, minimum distance, firearm type, frame height, etc. Shooters must produce a copy of the manufacturer’s instructions when requested. No explosive targets are allowed.

5.Target distances may be staggered, but targets may not be more than 20 feet away from the back berm.

6.Rapid fire is permitted so long as muzzle control is maintained at all times.

7.Members may shoot on the move, but only one shooter may advance forward of the firing line at one time. Guests may not shoot on the move.

8.When any shot produces a ricochet, shooters must cease firing to determine and eliminate any preventable cause before shooting is resumed.

9.Members must have and display a certification on the back of their ASC badges before doing any of the following. Guests are not allowed to engage in any of the following.

---Shoot at distances more than 200 yards.
