ASC-Waterman, a CMP-affiliated organization, will conduct a class in the “Proper Care and Feeding” of your CMP-type rifle on the following dates:
- M1 Garand, Saturday, January 7, 2023, 12:30-4 p.m.
- M1 Carbine/M1A (M14), Saturday, February 4, 2023, 12:30-4 p.m.
- AR-15 Rifle, Saturday, March 4, 2023, 12:30-4 p.m.
Location: ASC West Side Range Building. You will be met at the entry gate for the Rifle/Pistol ranges. Travel South on Waterman rd to Reuff Rd. Than West 1 mile to the Second gate on the North side.Restaurants are in Waterman if you wish to dine before the class.
The cost will be $25 each. We will supply all cleaning gear, lubricants, and tools (but bring your own cleaning rod if you can.) Bring your own rifle (BYOR). No ammunition. Proper disassembly, inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly will be covered. Experienced competitors and collectors will be on hand to answer questions about your rifle.

We will cover:
- overall disassembly including the bolt
- cleaning
- inspection
- lubrication
- reassembly of your rifle
- check feed/extraction using snap caps which will be supplied(NO AMMUNITION LIVE or INERT)
- Snap caps in .30-06, 7.62X54R(Mosin), 7.92X57(Mauser) will be on hand
