ASC Open to General Members and their Guests East Side Ranges Night Shoot
Brought to you by ASC Action Shooting Sports.
Date: Saturday October 12th
Time: 5-9 PM (Mandatory Safety Brief at 5 pm no exceptions)
Safety Brief Location: East Side Building Lounge
Details and Requirements:
- $0 Fee. Open to Members and their guests over the age of 18. (Must login with your ASC ID to register). Be advised, if you are NOT and ASC member you must be accompanied by an ASC member as their guest and they must register you.
- This will not be a youth friendly event due to the complexity of low/no light. If you have questions please call Kris Kline at 815-440-4452.
- Night Shoot will be run by the ASC Action Shooting Sports teams of Practical Rifle, 2 Gun, and TASC volunteering their time to make this event possible.
- Limited to 65 Registrations to ensure safety. DO NOT SIGN UP AND NO SHOW. We fully expect this to fill up, so please be respectful and commit if you register.
- All attendees must be at the safety brief at 5 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE SAFETY BRIEF. If you miss the safety Brief you will not shoot the night event and will be spectating.
- Pistols Allowed: All non-magnum pistols using either Handheld and/or Weapon Mounted lights are allowed.
- If you have a Weapon Mounted Light you SHOULD also have a handheld light. Do not show up with only a Weapon Mounted Light. A Handheld light is the only requirement.
- Rifles Allowed: AR and AK style rifles. Weapon Mounted Lights are Required for all Rifles. Rifle Caliber limited to 5.56/223, 300 Blackout, and 7.62X39.
- No 308, 30-06, or larger calibers (We will be shooting steel as close as 50 yards with rifles).
- No Steel Core or Green Tip Ammunition. If a magnet sticks to the projectile do not bring it.
- Attendees can use only pistol, or a combination of their pistol and rifle.
- Night Vision Goggles, Thermal Scopes, and Night Vision Scopes are allowed.
- This will be a cold range. Your firearms will remain unloaded and clear at all times unless instructed by an RO at the stage you are working with. If you are moving from stage to stage you will unload and show clear with an RO BEFORE you move to another area, and you will not reload unless an RO instructs you.
Range Bay Assignments:
- E6 will be 2 Gun team setting up a typical stage.
- E7 will be PR team setting up a typical stage
- E8 will be TASC team setting up targets to allow everyone to test out their lights at their own pace. This will be where the TASC team will provide coaching to ASC members on the use of your white lights.
- E9 will be an open bay with common Barricades you would see at a PRS, PR, 2 Gun, or 3 gun match. You will have the ability to on your own find an open barricade, and practice your shooting positiions. You will be shooting at steel targets at 100 yards.
Format:
- We will begin with a Safety Brief, and then move into areas where we practice using our handheld and WML’s in full light conditions. As lighting fades we will pivot to an open format where attendees can move to the range bay that they are most interested in spending time on, and similar to Zombie Shoot sign up onto the list to either run the stage, or participate in the drills taking place at that bay.
- All attendees must be at the safety brief at 5 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE SAFETY BRIEF. If you miss the safety Brief you will not shoot the night event and will be spectating.
THIS WILL BE A COLD RANGE UNLESS INSTRUCTED BY AN RO. DO NOT MOVE BETWEEN BAYS WITH LOADED FIREARMS.
