ASC NRA RSO Class
Being part of the RSO, ESG and Security team is a valuable contribution by our members to our members. As an active member of this group, you are provided training at no charge and your volunteer hours requirement is waived for as long as you are an active member of the group. A significant part of this responsibility is your communications skills when interacting with other members. RSO's are there to assist members with firearm issues(jams etc), clarification of range safety rules, and as a last resort counseling the membership when safety rules are not being followed.
Becoming an ASC RSO(in brief):
- Send an EMAIL to me( jspidle at aurorasc.org ) with your contact information(email and phone #), how long you have been a member and what shooting discipline(s) you participate in, and why you would like to be part of the RSO team.
- Complete(ASC will provide)
- NRA RSO training course
- ASC Medical orientation / training
- ASC RSO orientation
- Participate in quarterly team meetings and updates.
- File reports in a timely manner
The commitment by ASC is to provide training, NRA RSO/CPR-AED-First Aid/Stop the Bleed, are all provided at no expense to the member. By providing that training ASC expects in return that you commit to 4 hours/month as a patrol RSO for 24 months. Patrol RSO's are the ones who assist members on the west side ranges, shotgun and other open areas of our facility.
